Sitting in our Marriot room for the past eleven days just accross from the hospital where Tony has gone thru five surgeries in ten days. His beautiful strength and courage has shone in every challenge he has faced in life and especially these past eleven days. Tina at his side offering her love and attention evey moment since his accident. His friend Luke spending days supporting Tony and Tina and offering hugs to family has been a true blessing to all. Other friends stopping by for a visit or two to offer their strength and support. Jennifer giving great massages and exercises and Holly giving hugs to Tina and sharing tears with her brother. All of his friends and family have been so strong throughout only wishing and praying for Tony's recovery. Now, Tony can hopefully move forward as he may have just endured his last surgery if all goes well. The doctor will be checking daily to insure the infection is under control and healing is occurring without any more complications.
With Tony's incredible sense of humor and great spirit, he continues to work on his current challenge, overcoming his injury. When he was in grade school they voted him "Most Likely To Become Indiana Jones" and we always wondered exactly what that meant. Well as Tony grew into a man, we realized that he is an Indiana Jones sometimes defying what we deemed impossible. It is this courage that we are now seeing every moment.
Thank you for all of your love, prayers, support, visits and everything that has given Tony and Tina and his family strength. The overwhelming response has been so touching to all. As his parents, it has been our most difficult challenge to watch our son suffer so much, but he always gives us a faint smile and loving kiss to assue us he is and will be OK. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Ken & Patti Miely

  1. We also want to thank Tina mom, Sherry for being such an incredible support to both Tina and Tony. She has been with us for the past ten days and has offered her love and support constantly during this difficult time. Sherry traveled from New York to be at her daughters side and to support Tony in every way. Sherry, thanks to YOU! Ken & Patti

  3. I hope this is the right way to send you a message, I couldn't find any other way but I am not the most technically inclined. Although this is the first time we have gone to your blog, we have been thinking about you Tony, and all of your family and friends who are there with you, most moments of every day since your journey began. We are amazed how strong you have been through this unbeliebable chanllenge, keep up the amazing work. You are a role model for all of us and a reminder that life can throw some curve balls, but the outcome is what you make it, and you are making lemonade!! You have our thoughts and prayers each day and we look forward to seeing you back at home doing all the things you love to do. Tina you are right there in our hearts too, you are such a strong lady, and surely keeping everyone laughing and light hearted, Tony is so lucky to have you by his side. Love and strength to you guys, we are ready to help however needed.

  4. Dearest Kenny, Patti,Tony and Tina,

We just found your blog thru Anita and want you to know that we have been thinking about you and praying for all of you from the beginning. From when I was just a teenager we learned thru my dads accident that with your family and friends love and support you can do anything! Daddy is now 81 and still manages to dance and walk and exercise(although this seems to go hand in hand with @itching), I wonder why the dancing doesn't?he-he. All of this when they said he would never even walk again. We will all help you through this with the power of family love and prayer.

Remember Tony this winter when its really cold you have "family " on Marco Island whom would welcome you with open arms for some warm recovery!

We think of you often and are proud of how you are showing all of us your true strength.

    Love to all,
Donna J.,kids and Aunt jean and Uncle Jimmy

I have watched you be parents for A LONG TIME a Really LONG TIME (your old)and you guys are amazing to me. I know Tony will be fine because of the support he will get from his wife, friends, family and because of you two. The unconditioinal love
and support you have given your children shines through in everything you do and is reflected in them. Keep your chins up, I know this has been hard and you will have some challenges ahead but you will see Tony sking soon. Love ya, Marty
