A post from Tony!!!

Hello All! I have never been great typing but this 1 hand thing is going to take some time. First off, Thank you all for you support! I was in a Rhino ATV that rolled over, I was a passenger and had my right hand on a metal grab handle when it rolled. I have lost most of my right hand, but I should have use of my wrist and may have a stub of a thumb. I do happen to be a lefty, so i got that going for me. I spent the last week in Denver ICU, i have been through 4 surgeries and have another monday, hopefully the last for a while. I am out of ICU and in a regular room. This has been and will continue to bethe biggest challenge life has ever thrown me, I am trying to look at the positives, i have my legs, i have my mind, i have the best support on the planet from all of you, my wife Tina, my family, and my determination. I know I have a long road but i am still here and i will boof again!Thank you all, I will be on her updating more. Thank you all! Tony Miely 4CRS

  1. Hey Tony, just want you to know that everyone in Gunnison is sending positive thoughts and thinking about you. It's weird how we get thrown these challenges. Take every day as it comes. The human spirit and strength is unbelievable and I know that you have everything it takes to make the most of what you are given...despite what seems to be taken away. Lots of love! Katie Hynes

  4. Tony, We haven't met but if you are half the person Jenny is, you are great! And reading your blog makes me think you are! What a tremendous attitude! I think you will find that with that attitude you will be able to do all that you did previously, just in a little different way. We continue to pray for you and send our collective strength your way. Nancy & Galen from The Paper Clip

  7. Tony,
Having known you since the old Wavesport days, not to mention CSU, I truly believe that you will pull through this in the best way possible. We are behind you 100% and offer any and all help that you may need. Steamboat misses you, my friend. We will be rollerblading before you know it, my man.

  10. Tony,

You will still be able to text/type faster then me, which ain't saying much. I am confident you will get through this with a little help from your friends and family. It is amazing the twists and turns life takes, but you will soon feel the warm sunshine on your face and thats the most important thing, everything else can be worked through. Your mom has kept me updated, keep your chin up, keep smirking. Love ya buddy(little A.R.M.)

  13. Maybe we'll get some good water in Falls Creek this next spring and you could show me how to fire up the bottom slide without a paddle again ( mad skilz ). The paddle toss trick at the Z-Turn was awesome. Thinking of you guys.

  14. Tony:
You and Tina have been in my thoughts and prayers since i heard a week ago. Yes, life is short and when you least expect it life throws a curve.
Of all the people I know, if this had happened to 99% of them I would have said that they never would be able to do what I KNOW you are capable of. You and Tina have been dealt a raw deal - but the two of you are sooooo strong and of all people you will rise above this injury and take your abilities to a new level. Mark my word- You will become a pioneer in rafting and biking prosthetics. Trust me, I have an inordinate amount of faith in you both and God will make this right!
