Thanksgiving Healing Picture

Always with a smile on his face no mattter how small that smile is. Thanksgiving with the Miely family was fantastic even if their was a few meltdowns from Kahne (present overload) and myself (to much food and being overtired like a 3 year old!). Today, some Christmas shopping and window shopping to begin the quest of exchanging our cars for automatics so Tony can drive them (have stick shifts unfortunetly, and those days are over for us for a while). Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and we hope that everyone can feel our love from afar!

  1. Happy "Black Friday" or Post-Thanksgiving Day! Tony - the healing progress really looks good, and we're so grateful to you and Tina for keeping us in the loop on how you are doing! Tina - you are one amazingly terrific young woman and we're so happy Tony has you in his life!! (and vice versa, of course!)
Hugs and blessings to you both

  2. Tony,
Tim Judkins here, a resident you met briefly during your stay in Denver. I heard recently that hand centers in Kentucky and Pittsburgh are now doing hand transplants. Have you already heard about this or looked into it? If not, Google hand transplnat surgery and check out the Louisville, KY website. Glad to see you and your family are doing so well.
    Take care,
    Tim (timothy.judkins@ucdenver.edu)

  3. Tony & Tina,
Hello from Seattle, I see I'm not the only one rooting for from here.
It's been awhile since I checked in or have been able to read your blog.
Just started a new job, off the dole finally as they say in the UK.
Tina, you can continue to amaze me. Writer, realtor extraordinaire and now a budding rock star! Your entries always bring tears to my eyes and open my heart. I feel the entire gamut of emotions in every one of your updates. You are so present and vulnerable. Really, nothing else could be more healing for either of you.
It was very encouraging to hear, Tony, that you are not the only amputee in town. No one else can really help you adjust as well as someone who has been there themselves.
Their mere presence and certainty that you can move on and thrive is so uplifting and reassuring. I'm so happy for you.
    God Bless you both,
    Much love & admiration,
    Aunt Karen
